In short — A few AI UGC video generators have a real free plan — Creatify, HeyGen and Synthesia — but all three watermark their exports, so you can test the tool, not run the ad. Captions is free for editing only, with no AI generation credits. Klaivo gives 3 free scripts from a product page with no card, and the video needs a trial with a card. Arcads, Topview and InVideo AI showed no free plan when we checked. The cheapest paid plans start at $18 a month.
Disclosure: Klaivo, which publishes this blog, is one of the tools below. Every other figure comes from the vendor's own pricing page, read on 4 October 2026 (Arcads publishes none, so its entry comes from its terms of service). Offers change often: check before you sign up.
What "free" means for an AI UGC tool
"Free" covers three different things, and only one of them lets you run an ad:
- Free to try: a monthly allowance with a watermark. Good for judging quality, not for paid campaigns.
- Free for part of the job: a free script, free editing or free captions, while generation is paid.
- Free to publish: watermark-free exports at no cost. For AI video generation, which costs the vendor real compute, we found none.
The tools with a free way in
Creatify — free plan, watermarked
Creatify's free plan gives 10 credits a month: up to 2 video ads or 20 image ads, 300 AI actors, 10 premium AI models and 40 ad templates. Exports include a watermark. The cheapest paid plan, Starter, is $39 a month (100 credits, watermark removed).
- Good for: testing URL-to-UGC with avatars before paying.
- Limit: two video ads a month, watermarked.
HeyGen — free plan, watermarked
HeyGen's free plan includes 3 videos a month, up to 1 minute each, with access to its stock avatars and one custom video avatar. Watermark removal is not included; it starts with Creator at $29 a month ($24 billed annually).
- Good for: testing avatar realism and lip-sync.
- Limit: three short watermarked videos a month; built for avatar video in general rather than for ad structure.
Synthesia — free plan, watermarked, no card
Synthesia's free plan includes 10 minutes of video a month and 9 AI avatars, with no card required. Videos carry a Synthesia watermark. Starter is $29 a month, or $18 a month billed yearly.
- Good for: presenter-style video and trying an avatar platform without a card.
- Limit: a corporate presenter look rather than creator-style UGC.
Captions — free editing, no AI credits
Captions' free version gives basic editing tools (trim, transitions, captions in 100+ languages), but no AI usage credits are listed for it. AI features start with Max at $24.99 a month (500 credits).
- Good for: captioning and finishing a video you already have.
- Limit: it won't generate an AI UGC ad on the free plan.
Klaivo — free scripts, video on a trial
New accounts on Klaivo's AI UGC video generator get 3 free product-page analyses with no card: paste a product link and you get the product sheet and a clip-by-clip UGC-style script you can edit. Generating the video needs credits: a 7-day free trial with 32 credits (card required, on the monthly Starter plan), then $29 a month for 100 credits. Exports are watermark-free.
- Good for: seeing the script your product page produces before paying anything, then a watermark-free ad on the trial.
- Limit: no free video without a card, and no library of reusable AI actors.
The tools with no free plan
- Arcads: no free trial and no free plan. Its terms of service, in force since 22 September 2026, describe neither, and prices appear only after you create an account (third-party reviews put the entry plan around $110 a month).
- Topview: its pricing page showed no free plan on 4 October 2026; the cheapest plan, Basic, is $18 a month (50 credits).
- InVideo AI: its pricing page showed no free plan on 4 October 2026; paid plans start with Starter, billed per seat.

Why a watermarked free plan isn't enough for ads
A watermark tells the viewer the ad came from a tool, which works against the point of UGC: looking like a real person's take. Free allowances are also small (two to three videos a month), while finding a winning hook takes several versions. Use free plans to judge quality, then pay for the month in which you actually test.
The cheapest path to a publishable AI UGC ad
- Judge the script first. It decides most of the result, and it's the part some tools give away (Klaivo's free analyses do exactly this).
- Test quality on a free plan or trial before you commit to a month.
- Pay for one month while you test 3 to 5 versions, then keep the plan only if a version beats your current ads.
What a finished AI video ad really costs, model by model, is in what an AI video ad really costs. How to make the ad itself is in how to make AI UGC ads.
FAQ
Is there a completely free AI UGC video generator?
Not for publishing. Creatify, HeyGen and Synthesia have free plans, but their free exports carry a watermark (checked 4 October 2026). Paid plans start at $18 a month (Topview) and $29 (Klaivo); Klaivo's exports are watermark-free.
Which free AI UGC generator is best?
For creator-style ads from a product link, Creatify's free plan (2 watermarked video ads a month). For avatar realism, HeyGen's (3 short videos a month). To see the script your product page would produce without a card, Klaivo's 3 free analyses.
Can I use a watermarked AI video in an ad?
Check the tool's terms and the platform's ad policies first. Either way, the watermark signals a tool-made video and weakens a creator-style ad. Most advertisers use free plans to test, then export without the watermark on a paid plan.
Does Arcads have a free trial?
No. Arcads has no free trial and no free plan; its terms in force since 22 September 2026 describe neither.
